Volnay, Burgundy · Red · 100% Pinot Noir

The d'Angerville family has been in Volnay for generations and is one of the village's reference producers, now farming biodynamically. In the 1920s, the Marquis d'Angerville called out merchants who were blending cheaper southern wine into Burgundy. They refused to buy his wine in return, so he began bottling and selling it himself, one of the first estates in Burgundy to do so. Champans is one of Volnay's top Premier Cru vineyards.

2015 was a warm, generous year, giving ripe red cherry and raspberry with silky tannins. Volnay is Burgundy's most graceful red, and this shows why.
