Pauillac, Bordeaux · Red · From vineyards of around 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot

Pontet-Canet neighbours Mouton Rothschild in Pauillac. It was bought in 1975 by Guy Tesseron, a Cognac merchant, and his family still runs it today. It's now famous for its biodynamic farming and horse-ploughed vineyards, and this 1995 comes from before that change.

Thirty years on, it's fully mature: cedar, tobacco, cassis and earthy notes, with soft, settled tannins. Classic old Bordeaux.
